The Kootenay Trout Hatchery is offering Learn to Fish programs this summer and is encouraging aspiring anglers of all ages to make 2009 the year that they discover the joys of fishing.
In Your Backpack
It’s important to dress appropriately for your fishing adventure. The weather conditions can change very quickly on BC’s coast, and you need to be prepared for sudden changes in temperature and precipitation. Here’s what to pack in your fishing backpack:
- A rain coat and hat
- A fleece jacket or wool sweater is a must
- Dry footwear is also important, particularly if you’ll be walking on wet ground or sand
- Sunscreen: The sun can be very strong, even on overcast days.
