Where to Fish > Fishing from a Pier

Many coastal communities in British Columbia offer great fishing opportunities either from specially designed fishing piers, or from government docks and local marinas in the area.

Fishing piers are great spots for beginning and occasional anglers, as there are usually other anglers there who may be willing to offer local tips and tricks - especially helpful if you are new to the location. Careful observation of what others are using for tackle and bait will offer immediate insight as to what may be working that day.

The following list is a few of the communities in B.C. that have easily accessible public docks to fish from. This is by no means an extensive list, check local tackle shops, marina operators and do your own exploring to locate good fishing docks in your area.

  • Campbell River - Discovery Fishing Pier
  • Comox Harbour
  • Nanaimo Sport Fishing Pier
  • Port Alberni
  • Sidney - Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier
  • Sechelt - Porpoise Bay Government wharf
  • Sunshine Coast - Madeira Park Government wharf
  • White Rock Pier
  • Port Moody Community Pier
  • West Vancouver - Ambleside Fishing Pier
  • Richmond - London's Landing, Richmond Fishing Pier, CN Barge Pier
