Fishing and Camping are a Great Pairing

BC’s lakes are in the midst of undergoing fish stocking, which means more freshwater fish than you can shake a stick (or rod) at this summer. As you dust off musty camping gear and prepare to hit the road, make sure your rods and reels are along for the trip.

Where to Fish > Fish from the Shore

There are lots of great shore based fishing opportunities all along B.C.'s coast. Your choice of location will typically be determined by the species you're after.

As a general rule of thumb, salmon and coastal cutthroat trout tend to be most effectively fished from gentle, sandy or cobbled beaches. River mouths and estuaries are also great spots to look for salmon and trout.
