Walloper Lake
Description: Walloper Lake has a wharf for shore fishing that offers a great opportunity for success and is suited to family fishing for trout in the .5 kg (1 lb) range. Bundle up this winter-the lake has excellent fishing year round!
Nearest town/city: Kamloops
Driving directions: Driving south from Kamloops on the Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5), take Exit #336 and head east, following signs for Lac le Jeune. Turn right (south) shortly after exiting the highway.

Fish in the lake: Wild rainbow trout
Tips: Fish from the dock or from a boat.

Lac le Jeune Lake

Description: Lac le Jeune Provincial Park offers an assortment of recreational activities including swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, and nature appreciation. The campground serves as a base for the use of Lac le Jeune, and nearby Walloper, Stake and McConnell lakes.
Nearest town/city: Kamloops
Driving directions: Driving south from Kamloops on the Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5), take Exit #336 and head east, following signs for Lac le Jeune.

Fish in the lake: The waters of Lac le Jeune are known for stocked rainbow trout, which can reach 1.5 kg (3 lbs) in size.
Tips/Techniques:


Paul Lake

Description: Homes, cabins and Paul Lake Provincial Park dot the shores of Paul Lake, but the fishing is still good and worth a visit any time of the year. In winter, ice fishing is particularly good during the early part of the season and the best fishing of the open water period occurs as soon as the ice comes off the lake.
Nearest town/city: Kamloops
Driving directions: From Kamloops, drive north on Highway 5 (Yellowhead Highway), turn east (right) on Paul Lake Rd and follow signs to the provincial park.
